W.O Stinson & Son Ltd. kicks off another season with Chris Brent, as he powers onto Canada’s Pro Racing Motorcycle Circuit. Ottawa’s Chris Bent is picking up right where he left off last season. Chris won the 2016 National Shoei Helmets Amateur Sportbike title and took 3rd place overall in the National Magneti Marelli Amateur Superbike class.
Ready to Take 2017 by STORM!
Chris has moved up to the Pro ranks and is already making a splash! During the first race event for the Canadian Superbike Association‘s (CSBK) National motorcycle racing season, held at the Shannonville Motorsport Park, Chris qualified for second place with a blistering time of 1:07:168, just two-tenths of a second behind the leader.
Ottawa’s “Race Weekend” drew a huge crowd of fans for the day. Here is what Chris had to say after burning an incredible qualifying time: “I did not really expect to be that high in qualifying but the bike was performing just great and I opened up the throttle and clocked the kind of time I know I can turn on this track.”
On race day, Chris had a strong start and held third place for three laps. A slip of his front tire on a turn made the difference and dropped him into the fourth spot. He was only 4 one-hundredths of a second behind his qualifying time during the race, showing he can deliver some top times under high- pressure race conditions.
TSN is once again carrying the Pro races and CSBK. Check out Chris’ race!
Race commentators had a lot to say about Chris during the live coverage, including that for a rookie in his first race Chris’ performance was “brilliant” and “outstanding”. Chris said, “it was disappointing not to be on the podium in this first race but clearly I can compete in this class and I am really looking forward to the next race in June.”

The competition is a lot more fierce, the riders are better and they are very strategic, so I have to up my game and I think my performance in this first race of the season shows I can be competitive. Bring on the rest of the season !”
In the off season Chris made the decision to switch to Eni motor oils. “The switch has been great and knowing that your engine is protected brings great confidence.” The specific line Chris depends on is the Eni i-Ride 5w40 full synthetic.
